Finerenone Webinar

A new treatment option with a positive benefit-risk profile for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD; stage 3 and 4 with albuminuria) in patients with Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM)

Finerenone is a new, selective, nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor agonist (MRA) that is different from available steroidal MRAs. This webinar explores how T2DM affects the development of CKD and how finerenone could impact the treatment management in this patient population. Current guidelines recommend a combination of therapies to reduce the risk of CKD in T2DM1-7. Yet, even then a residual risk of cardio-renal events remains high in affected patients8-13. In patients with CKD and T2D, treatment with finerenone resulted in lower risks of CKD progression and cardiovascular events than placebo5,6.
